I think I was born painting.  I can't remember a time when I didn't have a brush in hand to create something.

I soon learned that drawing was the first step in entering the world of art.  I took many courses in drawing and the use of color, which is my passion.  I have studied at various schools in Minnesota and California to further my art skills.  I have also studied under various artists at private classes and workshops in all parts of the country, from the East Coast to the West Coast and in between.

I've dabbled in all mediums--charcoal, pastels, pen and ink, oils, acrylics, and watercolors.  I spent several years in fine arts, mostly oils, and then worked in decorative arts--Tole painting, fabric painting, etc.  I began working in watercolors a few years ago and have been pleased with the enormous challenge it offers.

I have taught classes in basic drawing, oils, acrylics, and decorative arts.  I have also participated in many art shows and received several awards.  I am currently a member of the Cottage Grove Art Guild and exhibit my work locally.  Many of my paintings are for sale at Mystical Closet, 609 E. Main in Cottage Grove.

I can't imagine a more rewarding and exciting hobby.  It fulfills my creative nature and satisfies my soul.
